Horn

The horn we use for the A/BARENESS jewellery comes from domesticated water buffalos and is a by-product from animals used for farming or food. Our supplier buys the horns from local butchers & no animals will be harmed or slaughtered just for the purpose of producing jewellery. This animal is not endangered like the wild Asian water buffalo.

♥Horn, bone and other materials from animals have been used for thousands of years across the world for making jewellery. 

♥Horn and bone are also used for a large variety of home ware and other products for export, both from Nepal and other Asian countries

♥Horn is a growth of keratin very similar to the human fingernail

♥Buffalo horn is primarily black in color with some white highlights, sometimes brown and/or honey colored.
