A SUMMARY; WHO IS A/BARENESS?

 

In short, A/BARENESS  is a Slow Fashion brand with Planet & People Friendly design, a label making accessories from sustainable materials, 1 % from each piece sold goes back to #CoolKidsNeedCleanWater, providing kids with clean drinking water in Nepal.  All A/BARENESS designs are handmade with love in Nepal and we aim to produce timeless, longlasting, environmentally friendly and socially responsible products which are available online and wholesale.

 

 

....THE STORY....

 

A/BARENESS is a Norwegian Slow Fashion brand that came to life at the end of 2012, on a journey to Upper Mustang, a rural district of Nepal. 

We are 100 % transparent brand & and tell the story behind our designs and products and the people who made them #WhoMadeYourJewellery? 

 

We get inspired by the cultural differences between Norway and Nepal, but also within Nepal itself – it is a charming mix of cultures; Nepalis, Hindus Tibetans and Japanese are among the influences that are all stirred together amidst this Himalayan landscape.

Our designs are a fusion of elements from our adventures, experiences and everyday life in Nepal and Norway and the typical clean Scandinavian style.

 

We work mainly with natural materials like silver, brass, copper, white metal & semi –precious stones in various colors. 

Each piece is crafted with love & care by Nepali artisans

In our collection you’ll find designs that can pair perfectly with any girl or ladies style.

 

The brand was founded by Anne-Marthe Fossum & Karoline Hestnes, but is today owned and runned by the latter.

 

Our design mantra is

which is a famous quote by Yves Saint Laurent

 

We try to make earth-friendly decisions whenever we can and we believe that all small things really do count, 

After all, many small drops make a mighty ocean, and that is also why we founded our giveback project #CoolKidsNeedCleanWater
